The Residential Aged Care Communiqué (RAC Communiqué) is an electronic publication containing narrative case reports about lessons learned from the Coroners’ investigations into preventable deaths in Residential Aged Care facilities.

Microsoft’s new operating system (OS), Windows 10, has now been released.

We have tested Manad Plus with this new OS and have not had an issue. We have now added this OS to our supported OS list.

DSS has released a new edition of its ‘Information for Aged Care Providers’ newsletter.

Animal Welfare League Australia (AWLA) has released the 2015 Pets in Aged Care Grants.

The aim of this grant is to support aged care residents who have pets. Grant funding will assist facilities and residents make suitable arrangements or modifications to enable residents and their pets maintain an existing bond.

Australian social researchers McCrindle have looked at the Aged Care Industry in a recent report.

“In the next 30 years Australia will see an unprecedented rate of growth of the over 85s in our nation. In 2044 there will be 1.2 million more people aged over 85 than there are today, and the average older Australian will live 5 years longer than today which equates to adding 6 million more years of care just for the increased number of over 85s and just to manage their increased life expectancy.”
